I live on a tidal waterfront and have an opportunity to obtain a decent boat but need ideas on how to get this to the bottom of my house in low tide. As I would like to use the boat at all times other than at high tide.

  1. you'll need a set of rollers or a long, come a long

  2. I use plastic (pvc) pipe. The kind used for plumbing and irrigation. I have 4 sections about 1.5m long. You just line them up in front of the boat and roll the boat a few meters and then lay the pipes in front again until you reach your destination. It takes a bit of time but it is cheap and it works. Unless you have a very steep incline up to the house. Then you might need help to push. A 200kg load will move fairly easily along a relatively flat surface.

A come along with 40m of cable would be huge and slow going. It would work to pull the boat toward the house as it would need to be mounted to something stationary. What would you mount it to to get the boat to the water?

  3. get 3 friends and pick it up
