Why not move it via water, up the Hudson and west on the erie canal?  It is a pleasurable trip.

When you say a large boat do you mean a large boat like a 50 footer or larger?  Or do you mean a 25 footer ?   Depending on the size of the boat, it can be very expensive to move a "large" boat.  If the height is over 14 feet from the ground or more, it will require moving overhead wires, and things.   Look up boat transport companies in the internet.  One good one I know  in Long Island, NY is Lighthouse Boat Transfer call them and they will give the quote over the phone"  631-321-9100.  Good Luck.

Just call "Dry Storage" through your local marina.

It should not be very expensive, $300 to $500, far less than buying a truck, trailer, and fuel.
