Moving a washer and dryer halfway across the country?

I was given a washer and dryer, all I need to do is find a way to move it from Virginia to Louisiana. does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? I don't want to travel across the country and I don't want to pay more for the move than the appliances are worth! Thank you.

Sell them and buy new ones when you get where you're going. It's not worth the trouble and gas to move them all that way.

You were given them?  Sounds like for free.  Sell for a few bucks.  Chances are you can pick up the same deal in Louisiana.  If not, oh well.
