Moving abroad?

Can you ever move abroad & be truely happy?

Many people keep saying to me "it won't be the same, how will you get used to it, you won't know anyone" etc...but it's been a lifelong ambition of mine to move abroad, especially to mexico (not for definate, but it's a place of interest.) I speak fluent spanish so language will be no problem.

What are the pro's & con's to moving abroad? What should I ask myself before I move abroad? How do I know I'm ready to make the move?

Advice would be great.

  1. Mexico is not abroad, it borders on the U.S.

  2. Sure you can be happy! Is good to have a change i reckon, makes life more interesting!

  3. I gather that you are in the US. Ignore what people are saying, mexico IS a foreign country from the US. I am British and have lived in several countries. My wife is American and came over here and loves it. People who say it won't be the same amaze me. Of course it won't be the same, it's a different place, but why is that bad??. The world is a huge and amazing place, there is far more to see than the USA. Go and enjoy - if you don't like it you can always come back. After you have been there, why not try Europe or Asia??. If you don't do it while you have the chance you may regret it for the rest of your life. Go and live your life and enjoy yourself.

As for the pro's and cons that depends on who you are and where you go. The pro's and the cons are part of the fun of living somewhere else.

Go for it and GOOD LUCK!
