Question:

Moving abroad to work

I'm a 22 year old English (British) male, and I was wondering how to go about moving abroad to find work. I'm disillusioned with life in England, and I'd like to go somewhere like France (or Italy, though I'd need to brush up my language skills to go there). Does anyone have any advice, or know anywhere I could actually find the advice I need?

  1. Since you are wanting to move within the EU, you will not need a work permit.  You can start reading about different EU countries and looking for work on the EURES website: http://www.europa.eu.int/eures/home.jsp?...

You can also go there and look for work.  When you find work, you might have to register into the country just to tell them you are staying but that is only a formality.

  2. Find a job first.  The employer then has to apply for your employment visa.

What is your university degree in, and what experience do you have beyond the baccalaureate degree?  Without those, you have little to no chance of finding work abroad and being able to get a work permit.
