I'm not 100% sure on the process. I want to live there, and get married to my boyfriend (who is american and an american citizen). What do i have to do to get to that stage, and how to i go about citizenship? Also, if you're getting married to someone thats already a citizen, does that make the process faster?

  1. yes it makes it much easier.. u don't need to apply for greencard.. once u get married he will sponsor u as a spouse.. they probably ask u some questions to make sure it isnt a paper marriage (like did u consummate the marriage).

All you need to do is get married by a recognized marriage procedure.. almost anything in australia should be ok..

best thing to do is contact the US Embasy in Australia. they will explain the procedure to u.

  2. You know its funny but I would rather live there.

  3. better to not marry him americans are untrustable peoble

trust me and stay wher you are

    thank you

  4. from australia to america?? what is wrong with you woman..

  5. here is the web page you need to consult , it is the consulate of US in Australia, on the right side of the page, it gives you all the US consulates located in Australia,

    http://canberra.usembassy.gov/consular/v...

read :Visa Instructions for Fiancé(e) Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants

marrying someone that is an US citizen, does not speed the process, all visas applications have to be looked at, the country of where you are originally from is what matters the most. since the majority of marriages are with US citizen.

  6. Getting married to a USA citizen does make the process faster.

you will also need to get a green card.

you can find out more about what that is, and how to get it, on some of the following websites.

you can check out these websites for soem more info!

    these should have helped somewhat...

    good luck!

    have fun.

  7. if you marry an American citizen, this 'automatically' approves you to apply for a green card.

You need to apply for a "K1 Fiance Visa" -- check out this link to find out the requirements: http://usimmigration.visapro.com/K1-Fian...

I actually had a friend who was a Canadian citizen, but had lived in the US for over 10 years.  He met a woman in Australia and they wanted to get married and live here in the States.  He got his American citizenship BEFORE the wedding so that they didn't *both* have to go through the process... so that when they married, she would be an official American citizen (without having to go through everything he did)!

  8. most americans would rather leaving for australia are u okay???
