Question:

Moving from BC to Quebec--special visa?

My girlfriend and I are through-and-through Canadian residents. We live in BC now and are planning on moving to Montreal for the summer. Everything's set up, we've got a place to go, bought our tickets, etc. We were planning on finding jobs when we got there, but I just noticed something online talking about how immigrants to Quebec need to go through both the Canadian AND the Quebecois govt. Does this mean we need to go check out with the QC govt if we're already Canadian citizens? I'd never heard anything about this, but I don't want to find out when we get there that we won't be able to get jobs. Anybody know anything about this?

  1. Actually the only requirement to enter Quebec is a higher IQ.

Are you immigrants to Quebec if you are already Canadian citizens? Think about it.

And next time you find something like this, POST THE LINK!!!

  2. No, you're Canadian and that's all you need to be to live and work anywhere in Canada. Immigrants means people from outside Canada. You're not immigrating to Quebec, you're moving there.

  3. I dont know about the Visa, but i had to get a green card when i did that. Apperently they thought i was an American trying to take Canadian territory like they did in  the 1800's just because i am white..

    wow.

    Good LUCK!

  4. You do not need a visa,As a Canadian citizen it is your constitutional right to be able to live and work anywhere in Canada.Quebec as laws about working in Quebec and living in another province. In that case you may need a permit.
