Is it a friendly place for newcomers, or is it one of those clicky shitey villages where everyone seems to be related and newcomers are viewed as outsiders?

Will I be at a disadvantage because my Irish (Gaeilge) is c**p?

What is public transport like?

Is there a school there or is it a long journey?

Is there a Catholic church/chapel?

What is the crime rate like?

Can you walk along the riverside?

Is it a good place to go hillwalking?

As the 'child' I don't have a say, but I would really like to know what to expect. Any advice would be much more than welcome.

  1. There's plenty of places to go walking. Crime rate is low. You can get down to the river. It's beautiful in summer. There's a chapel on the hill overlooking the town - it's quite big by the way! They won't notice if your Irish is c**p because theirs is too! There's a school in the centre of town.

And when you are older you'll find the pubs aren't bad!
