Moving from Canada to Australia for a year for high school

so i have half my family living in australia and i am going into gr`11 and i want to go over there for a year to go to high school. Is there anything i need to have ? i already have an australian passport and im a citizen

  2. i would say get a medicare card- this will be for your doctors appointments (if any) you may need), if the doctors bulk bill then you get free doctors appointments, otherwise you pay at the appointment and only get some money back when you go into a medicare branch.

    you should be ok then having an aussie passport, if you are over 18 (or 17.5) years old you may be eligible for an 18+ card.18 is the legal age here, but dont think you may be yet? other than that, when you get here it might be good idea to set up bank account, there are lots-westpac, commonwealth, bendigo, anz...etc.

    you may want to get student travel card for public transport which you can use for ferries, trains and busses.

    other than that youll get your school book list and uniform from school, you will be ok :)
