On our last visit to PR I bought artificial tears at Walgreens (Condado Area) and they were at $17 vs. $10 here in Miami!! Since I'm moving for school/work w wife, I was wondering ... what kind of stuff is expensive or madly expensive over there that I can get from here. Clothing? Perfume? Shoes? Electronics? Appliances? Office Supplies? ---- and what's cheap(er) over there?

Thank you!

  1. its all the same. the only that here is more expensive than us is the cars. a Corolla 2009 top of the line you can buy there for 17,500 dollars, here you have to pay 24,000 dollar. this are for all cars.

  2. truly you'll find everything at about the same price...things are more expensive in some stores vs. other stores...just like here..but it'ss all about the same

im so jelouse of you i wanna move there so bad. i just go 1nc a year para mis vacas. :[[

    good luck

  3. Mostly everything in Puerto Rico is more expensive than in the US, because almost everything is imported.

  4. Everything is going to be more expensive around here..Why? because this is an island ......everything has to come either by sea or air!!!....Probably food is where you will find the big difference because PR has industrialize but because of that our  agriculture represed..... Agriculture represents only  1% of our economy so you can imagine how dependent we are on gas and how much effect does on food....

  5. almost everything.

because the tax over here is higher than in miami florida.

clothing could be cheaper and accessories

  6. Everything is about the same price. Some things might be a little higher because when you are on an island mostly everything is shipped in, but not too much. You paid more because you were in a tourist area. Cars tend to cost more money. You can ship your car but only if its worth it. It costs about $1000 to ship a car plus the import tax is $750+. So when you add that it might not even be worth it.
