Moving from NSW to QLD - Which area is best?

I live in the North eastern Sydney area (Ryde/Lane Cove) and I'm moving to QLD. Which area will closely match where I currently live?

My daughter is 16 and I'd like a nice area, great school and somewhere she cabn resume her dance classes.

I like a nice clean area with trees, great shops, easy access, quiet streets and nice homes - you get the picture...

Can anyone with a great knowledge of Brisbane suburbs help me out and tell me what's good?

  1. Indropilly.  It is close to a good school (st. Peter's), has a large shopping center, train station and frequent buses heading towards the city.

  2. The Gap , which is the north west suburbs of Brisbane it has great school's and shops, really nice neighbour hood,

  3. Well this isn't a suburb of Brisbane but just the Sunshine Coast where I live. It's really awesome and has all different types of areas and great weather (a little warmer than Brizzy) but only about an hour and a half to he centre of Brizzy from the Sunny Coast. It has great beaches and also great type of life. The best areas here I think are Maroochydore (it has an awesome shopping centre), Buderim, Caloundra, Coolum and if you want something bushey but still close to bussyness then Malany and Montvill are all nice, Gympie is nice too but it's more of a town but I might jus mention it too. The Sunny Coast offers everything mostly that a city would offer. I'm sure you will love it. :]

  4. I suppose St. Lucia or Toowoong but North Lakes, Griffin, mango Hill on the northside of Brisbane is all brand new.

Take a look on google earth.

  5. Hill End, Highgate Hill, St Lucia: inner city suburbia: close to river, university, CBD, highways: check realestate.com.au for the kind of homes and units in the area

  6. If your looking in Brisbane then I would suggest suburbs along the river such as Hamilton, Saint Lucia, Indoorapilly, and closer to the city.

I think you would like the Gold Coast better though. I use to live in Sydney too ( 7 years ago). I'm a 15 year old boy and have been living on the Gold Coast for 7 years and love it!

We have fantastic schools up here! Great looking houses and a wide variety of them too!

If you were to move to the Gold Coast I would suggest Emmanuel College for your daughter. They have dance classes there for girls and great sporting and academic things! Emmanuel College is located in the suburb of Carara.

The Gold Coast has great beaches as I'm sure you would already know about. We have quiet streets and yet we have everything you would have in a large city such as Sydney.

There are many shops here such as Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, Harbor Town, West fields. We have it all!

I would head to the Gold Coast if I were you! We have beaches unlike Brisbane, although Brisbane is also very nice.

Thanks for the question and I hope you are successful in your move =)
