Moving from New York City to Britain soon. Any advice?

I am moving to Britain (West Midlands) soon to attend University. I would appreciate any sort of advice about the country, the people, things to see, things to avoid etc. Thanks in advance ;)

well first u gotta learn the "real english" because they dont speak exactly the same. second u gotta learn the new spellings because in school ur gonna get marked off. third, u have to know how to understand the accent because sometimes it can be a bit tough. and last but not least u gotta have fun! well enjoy university! ^0^

I live in Birmingham in the west midlands, and i like it, the accent maybe a little hard to understand at first, people are ok, same as everywhere i guess lol! and Birmingham and Aston universities are a couple of the best uni's in the country.

watch for the accent.. watch some uk movies so u can get hold of it.
