Moving from car to 125/250 what steps to take

im considering a move from car to bike i haven't got any sort of bike license any idea on costs for test etc for a 125 or even a 250

  1. Make sure that you take your CBT on a 125 geared bike or you will only be able to drive a 50cc scooter. The best and most reliable comuter is the honda CG 125. You can also use it to take you lessons and final test on. You can not take your final test on a scooter, it has to be a geared 125cc. If you passed your car test before 2001you can ride a 50cc scooter.


  2. also in many states if you test on a bike less than 500cc then you are limited to a bike under 650 cc .... and if you test on a bigger bike like 650 or larger then there are no restrictions on your cycle liscence!!... But as far as I know if you are just getting a small scooter you need NO liscence at all .... at least in our township you dont... unless you have a passenger then you do!!  So check with your local Police Dept for the final rules and Regulations as for the final say !!!

  3. take a rider's course, msf...get ur lic...get insurance

    get riding gears...then you're set to go
