Moving from the US to Britian?

The value of the US dollar is ridiculous. Not only that, but the government is terrible.

Is it a good idea to move to Liverpool, Westminster, Wales, or London when I finish college & med school?

Btw I am currently 15.

  1. if you think the usa is bad just wait for the cost of living in uk. you will have no disposable income at all.

  2. London ive heard the ppl r nice there and well mannered and care about each other and really clean air cuz they don't pollute

  3. Don't go to liverpool. The people are really aggressive up there.

London is ideal, it thrives with mixed cultures and nationalities (as does most of England) but the price to live there is overwhelming. Ok, so the free health service is great, but every country has it's flaws, and maybe you should just visit before deciding to live here...

(Wales isn't in England, but it's very scenic and very quiet and peaceful)

  4. As an American you cannot just up sticks and move here to any part of the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) unless you have a shed load of money to invest, are being transferred here by an American company with a branch over here, or you can meet the criteria according to the new points tier system.  So if you want to come here you are going to have to knuckle down at school and get yourself a career which is in high demand here and then hope for the best.

It may seem unfair, but we would have the same problem trying to move State side....and if you think your government is terrible just wait till you have some experience of ours!

The grass is not always greener and that's a fact!

  5. You don't want to come here, the cost of living is sky high especially in London. Living in the north of England is much cheaper though.

  6. Liverpool, I wouldn't advise on going there. London is ideal to go to if you're studying medicine, however it is VERY expensive there, and you'll probably struggle to be able to live there, let alone afford anything else, especially after your student loans from med school. Search up on google some of the prices on apartments in London, and general purchases, and you'll see what we mean by expensive.

You're young at the moment, you may find you'll change your decision on where you want to go in the future (or even if you even want to study medicine). Plus, the state of your own and our government will most likely change by the time you make your decision to move here anyway. See how it goes over the next few years, and then make your choices on where you want to go. Then you can start looking up some places.
