Moving from uk to sydney, anyone done it?

i am moving with my fiancee on sept 1st and i am getting bit scared. just would like comments from people who have moved from UK. Was it was it easy to get a job, somewhere to rent, make friends?

  1. I don't think you'll find it any more difficult than moving to another area of the UK. Joining in some sport is a great way to make friends. Good luck and have fun.


  2. Well, it'll be hard at first as you probably won't get used to how much lower they pay you in dollars comparing to sterling.

  4. My cousin moved from the uk to sydney and settled down really well.  She got a job and a place to stay very easily.

    Another of my cousins moved to Perth and has built his own house now.

  5. yes went there (woolabong)near sydney in the 1960s it cost a tenner to get there, jobs where plentyful and there where that many brits doing it making friends was easy.But that was 2 generations ago and a lot has changed.

  7. I havn't but I know someone who did, they got a nice bar job fairly quickly, and made some good mates quickly, no need to worry, I wish I was going instead! xD
