Moving & have to switch power from old house to new..

this is my first time moving where i pay my own power bill, and i was wondering, if im moving on the 28th of august do i have to get my power unhooked from where i live now & set up at my new place on the 28th? or will the ppl who are moving still have power there for a few days after they are gone... or how does it work.. i don't want to go without power!

Your power supply company will usually change the billing on the date you request the changeover.
