Hi, i'm considering going to Strathcylde Uni in Glasgow instead of staying in Edinburgh.

I love the city of Glasgow and think it's a better night place for students and i also want to move out and gain more independence.

To all you students who moved out to live in halls is it an experience worth going for?

I'd appreciate it if you list the good and bad points of this to help with my never ending decision making- thank you.

  1. Its the most amazing thing I have done it gives so much independence and freedom and you learn so much about yourself i'd say go for it.

The only bad point is arguments with your flatmates but you will find most of them are pretty cool guys.

I have just finished my first year and I loved staying in halls so much I am doing the same next year.

    Hope this helps

  2. The bad points

    - You'll realise you do actually sort of like your family, and your home. You will have times when you miss them.

    - You'll also miss a well stocked fridge, plenty of loo roll and not doing your washing.

    - You may be put in halls with lazy people that will get on your nerves cos they leave their washing up everywhere, or are just people you don't like.

    The good points

    - It'll be the most amazing thing you'll ever do .

    - You'll have such a wicked time, meeting new people, and going out new places.

    - Lots of nightlife, and at uni bars -cheaper drinks.

    - You'll gain independance

    -You'll gain freedom.

-You'll spend whatever little money you have on buying food that you love ,and probably can't afford.

-You'll make amazing friends and maybe even more.

-You'll be on campus or with other students in halls of residence, so everything you do will be based around the university, so there is a sense of  safety and belonging.

-When you are home, everyone will be pleased to see you.

    - And you get a degree as well !

    ..Go for it !

    I am 98% sure you won't regret it !

    Good luck ! x
