Moving out mid-december, how far in advance should I buy tickets for the best prices? [international]?

it is bad timing for moving out, I know. I am going back to the States. when's the best time to get tickets? my dates are relatively flexible.

The sooner in advance you buy your tickets, the cheaper! And avoid traveling around holidays because the price is going to be much more expensive....(for example between Dec 20th - Jan 7th, tickets will be more than if you travel in early December or later in Jan).

If you can buy your tickets 6 months or more in advance, you're likely to get a better deal!

Check out www.statravel.com, they usually have some pretty cheap deals.
