Question:

Moving the kids bed I found dried gum on the carpet.....?

...it could have been there for a month. Other than cutting out the carpet am I doomed at trying to removing this chewing gum? Thank you for your help. Mary

  1. Try to find stuff called "Chewing Gum Remover II", that's what we use at work.  Look for it at your local janitorial supply store.  It freezes the gum so you can scrape it off with a putty knife.  If you can't find that, try goo gone, though it doesn't work as well and can cause your carpet to come unglued.


  2. Might try WD-40.

    My mom always had a can of some oil (small blue can with straw like end on it) to use to get gum and stuff out of places it didn't below.  I don't remember what that oil was, or what it might do to carpets.

    Freeze it with an ice cube.
