  1. Load the heavy stuff last so you don't have to move it to the back of the trailer/truck and you get to unload it first at the new place.

  2. This is a great opportunity to get rid of unwanted items, but when you pack your boxes its best to mark the boxes with a thick pen , put on X in big letters (BOLD)  in all the corners for the bedroom an O for kitchen etc in all the corners, so if a box is put upside down it will still show the pen mark . and you will not have to dig around, if its glass make sure it is only on the top, again make this really BIG letters GLASS..

  3. When you are loading the truck, keep in mind where the items are going to be going into your new house. The first things to load are the items that will need to go the shortest distance when you get to your new place, say the front room stuff. The last things in the truck should be the things that need to go the longest distance with less other stuff in the way (bedrooms, etc.) AND all of your kitchen stuff. The kitchen seems to always take the longest time to set up so have someone start unpacking it as soon as you get to the new location. By the time you have unpacked everything, you will have a functioning kitchen ready to feed all of your helpers and the beverages should be cold.

  4. Boxes.  You need lots of boxes.

  5. Just  mark each box plainly which room it goes to, and have plenty of beer.
