Question:

Moving to Australia / New Zealand?

Hi there. I want to move to OZ/NZ but I do not have a degree. It seems that having a degree within a discipline that they need is the only way to get in. I've done the test to see how many points I have to be able to emmigrate and it's not enough.

Does anyone know any way of doing this without a degree? I have seen that recruitment consultants are sort after, and my boyfriend does recruitment and is looking into jobs there, but where would that leave me?

Does anyone know whether unis there would accept uk citizens as students?

Thanks,

  1. The entry requirements for each country are very different (as are the countries) so it's worth looking at each one individually. Aus has an occupations in demand list  as they are always looking for skilled labour and that does not necessarily mean a degree is required. You also get extra points if you go to more remote areas rather than the popular suburban cities like Sydney and Perth. Student visas are available depending on your age and willingness to undertake study. Get some expert advice - there is always a way if you look at all the options and stick with it.

  2. If your boyfriend can get enough points, and you have a committed relationship, you may be able to get a "Partner Visa"

  3. Firstly, you should decide between Oz and NZ.

They are very different from each other, and it would help your case if you could convince one of them that you are committing your future to their particular country (there is quite a serious rivalry between them).

You should contact the respective High Commissions in London, and find out about their points-based immigration criteria.
