Hi I've been thinkin about movin to Aus for 6 to 12 months. I havent looked into visas in too great a detail, just that i'd maybe need a working holiday visa. I'm just interested to know would i be able to rent a cheap flat and get a job as a waiter/bar man something along them lines quite easily? Thanks in advance

  1. well It depends where you are from....if you are from a commonwealth country you can get a work visa quite easily. Depending on where you want to live, you will find work quite easily if you are closer to the major cities, if you want to work in a bar you need your rsa which you can get when you are here, I think its like 1 or 2 day coarse!   Australia is not a very cheap country!!   as an example if you live in the city of Sydney, a 2 bedroom unit(flat)  that is decent is about $350 and up and as a waiter you would earn $17 an hour!  we dont really tip in our CCountry, just so you know you wont make a lot in tips!!!   If you are from the States I am not too sure you can get a working visa and cash work is not very readily available!    Sydney is a fantastic city, and Melbourne totally rocks, and is more affordable and about the same wage..  good luck and if you do come have an awsome time and enjoy or beautiful country!!
