  1. Well I have been there once and I stayed in Eniscrone for a couple of nights. I went into Ballina for a meal but cant really remember it that well. Eniscrone on the other hand is a lovely town, it had a lovely  beach and is not far from Ballina. Enjoy it, it is a lovely part of the world!

  2. Ballina (Beal an Atha), the largest town in Mayo with a population of 6,563, is a busy industrial and commercial centre on the estuary of the River Moy. It is also the cathedral town of the Catholic diocese of Killala.

Ballina is renowned as an angling centre, with excellent river, sea and lake waters within easy reach. The famous Ridge Pool in the town is one of the premier tourist attractions in Ireland. A regular visitor to the Pool is the former manager of the Irish soccer team, Jack Charlton, who has a holiday home nearby.

The annual Ballina Street and Arts Festival (8-17th July, 2005) is one of the most popular in the country. The General Humbert Summer School takes place in August. Ballina has excellent sports and leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool.

Ballina also has a fine Gaelic Football Club and a National League Basketball team.

  3. Try Wikipedia, bub. But you're near the Ceide Fields.
