Question:

Moving to Canada from the United States...?

I fell in love with a gorgeous girl from Canada, and recently got back from seeing her in Ontario, and decided the distance is too much to handle. I'm trying to go point-by-point on everything that I need to do to successfully make a permanent relocation there.

Also, after brief research, it seems the process is easier if her and I are married. Is this true? It's already an open option.

Please help out on everything I'd need to do to make it a reality. Thank you in advance.

  1. Move to Canada. Get Married and have kids. The best part is that there is universal medicine meaning it is free.

  2. I wouldnt marry someone just because of this.....are you interested in Canada or the girl ?

Just do whatever it needs to work and live as an alien until  is all sort out for you, in your love life and visa status....

  3. If you are married then you can apply under the family unification which would be easier. Also depending on what you do for a living you might be able to get into Canada under NAFTA.

You might also look at the Air Canada unlimited Flight Pass in the meantime. They are great. For a flat rate you get unlimited travel between a set of cities.

Also Canadian health care is not the best thing about Canada. The health care here might be free but it is awful. You get a standard of care that is between 2-8 years behind the best practises because of cost restraint measures. I'm Canadian and for standard stuff I'm happy to use our system but if I or my family is ever sick I'll be on the next flight to the States where I can pay for good health care.

  4. why not have the girl move to the U S

or why don't you just find a girl from home to have your relationship with

    that would be much easier

I don't un derstand people who get into long distance relatiopnships

there are plenty of people just around the corner

that is always my priority when seeking out someone to date

they must live within 5 or 10 miles of where I live

    otherwise I can't be bothered

  5. you don't need to be married, common law is accepted in Canada,i moved from Australia to be with my man,I'm a permanent resident now
