  1. it would help if you said where in Canada you're moving because each province is different.  For instance, Quebec you must speak fluent French.  Alberta, you really don't need a visa.  Ontario, is more difficult, it is easier to receive refugee status.

  2. You need a work visa and SIN number to legally work anywhere in Canada. If you are caught working without it you will find yourself in serious trouble.

Where you apply depends on what type you are applying for and could be country of residence, country of birth &/or POE. What you apply for depends on your skills, education, experience as well as country of residence and country of birth.

Whether or not you need a resident visa depends on where you are from.

If you can find an employer, you can get a visa as long as the position qualifies for an LMO if necessary, you are capable for the position, and you aren't criminally or medically inadmissible. Also, remember that if you are wanting PR any family members that you will want to sponsor, whether accompanying you or not, will need to be examined upon application.

If you need anything else, please feel free to contact me.

  3. there is government info on immigration at

    http://www.canada.ca

you can review jobs etc.. at

    http://www.monster.ca

the western provinces (BC/Alberta/Sasktachewan) offer the most in terms of jobs and future IMHO

BC is an excellent place re: climate, mountains, ocean, etc..

  4. Keep in mind that BC stand for "Bring Cash" and lots of it. Rental vacancy rate is at about 0.04% and rental prices are VERY high - so is the cost of living.

Where you are coming from would determine what climate would best suit you and your family, and what your education and employment qualifications are.
