  1. If you don't have family or friends in the area then you can establish an address at the UPS Store or the Goin' Postal. That will give you a local valid street address. Use a cell phone number for phone contact information.

That would be the first step to get a local address. I would assume that you would actually go there once you have set up some interviews and pursue a position that will pay you what you need. Once you are there with some interviews set up then you would make your stay as productive as possible by checking the help wanted ads in the newspaper, looking online for job positions, calling companies from the Yellow Pages etc.

Your full time job while there would be finding a full time job. If the UPS store idea doesn't work then stay at a hotel that offers extended stay services and you may be able to use their address.

  2. Do you know anyone in the area that you can move in with temporarily until you found a job?

If not, do you have $$ saved for a deposit and a month or two of rent? Maybe you could rent a room temporarily. Craigslist usually has posting for roommates.

No landlord in their right mind is going to rent to anyone without a job that is the priority.

  3. it doesn't have to be "the chicken or the egg first" type of deal.  why not just get any job... any!  like waitress, receptionist, clerk...  at least get SOME kind of income and a roof over your head first.  once you get settled into your new place, then take your time to look for the job you want.
