  1. they both are not going anywhere for a decade...be a red sox fan, you will be more happy...u dont believe me? do a background check on the teams for the past 100 years and red sox has been more sucefully!!!!!!

  2. The Cubs......

  3. WELCOME TO CHICAGO.  IF YOU WANNA BE A CHUMP AND HOLD HANDS WITH ALL YOUR MAN FRIENDS GO AHEAD AND BE A CUBS FAN BECAUSE WE DONT WANT NONE OF THAT ON THE SOUTHSIDE.  IF YOU ATTEND ON BEING A REAL FAN, WATCHING MOST GAMES AND ATTENDING SOME EACH YEAR, WE WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO "V" YOU INTO THE WHITE SOX ORGANIZATION.

  4. Root for both.  They are in different leagues and it gives you more home games to see in Chicago.

Really the Cubs/White Sox hatred is a thing is silly and most of the times dumb.

  5. white sox!

  6. First, I want to tell you that Chicago is an awesome city! As for baseball teams, I will give you some tips, and advice, also filling you in on the history of both teams. I think part of your decision should be what side of town you will be moving to. The White Sox play on teh South Side, the Cubs play on the North Side. If you are moving towards the South Side, then I advise you root for the Sox. If you are moving to the North Side, then I advise the Cubs. If you will be West or East, keep reading.

The Cubs generally have more fans than the White Sox, but not by a lot. The Cubs have not won a World Series in 100 years. The White Sox won it all in 2005, but that broke an 88-year drought.

Cubs fans tend to be a bit wilder, as in a little crazy and out of control, but some enjoy that. They play in historic Wrigley Field, the second oldest stadium in use for the MLB. It has ivy walls, and you can sit on a roof of a building, or in the bleachers, which is absolutely crazy! Or you can do regular seating.

The White Sox play in the more modern U.S. Cellular Field. It has more amenities, and has a very cool scoreboard. It is nicknamed "The Cell" and I love it there! The players are funny and nice on teh Sox too! I don't watch too many Cubs games, but I am sure they have the same heart and determination as the Sox players.

My suggestion to you, is to go to two baseball games. One should be at Wrigley, the other at The Cell. See which experience you like better, and then determine your team right there. But......you should always stay with that team through the good and bad.

Good luck with your decision. I recommend the White Sox! :)

  7. u dont have to root for a chicago team, root for the rays, its more exciting to root for underdogs

  8. cubs, no one has liked the sox since their ballpark was still comiskie

  9. It's gotta be the Cubs.  You have a good chance of having both teams in the playoffs if not in the World Series. So if you're moving before October, you'll have a blast upon arrival. The White Sox have Griffey Jr now also and he's a Hall of Famer.

  10. Well, unfortunately you gotta root for the Cubs if you want a Chi town team. The White Sox are a great team, but just not exciting enough in my opinion. Cubs are always gonna be exciting to watch and follow. Although I will be your new rival fan cause I am a huge Cards fan!

  11. i would root for the cubs...thats because i like them better..its all opinion

  12. If you're a homosexual and like losing, then the Cubs.  Either way, you'll be a fake fan so Im guessing you'll be a cubs fan. Typical

  13. Cubs of course...you'll have a blast!

  14. As a White Sox fan the first thing I am going to tell you is don't get caught up in the ignorance of the crosstown hatred between the different team fans, which you will soon learn exists. Both teams are Chicago teams and are in different divisions and are not real rivals.

Second, just watch the games on TV and decide for yourself. Don't base your opinion on anything, but how entertained you are by the game itself. If you like both teams then you will enjoy something many Chicago baseball fans refuse to experience which is cheering for 2 different teams.

As I said I am a Sox fan, but watch Cubs games when they are on. I just don't care either way if the Cubs win or lose, their just not my team, but I watch them because they are a Chicago team and because it's baseball.

  15. Why not do as I do!

Root for both local teams and please, don't talk trash or bad mouth the other team.

This is considered bad manners by any true baseball fan.

If the local teams are playing each other, then root for good, sound, baseball playing.

This way everybody wins without all the "over the top" partisanship.

  16. Cubs without a doubt....

  17. Two Words! Chicago Cubs!

  18. Why not watch a few games, check out the ball parks, and see which team YOU want to root for.  People here are just going to tell you to cheer for their team for the most part. (I've seen a couple exceptions)

I'm from the area....and both teams have their pros and cons. Just enjoy some baseball, and see which one suits you more. (of course, some say it'll depend which side of the city you're living in :-p)

  19. Well, if you want a major league team, it's the White Sox. They won the World Series in '05. If you want a quadruple A team, that would be the Cubs, who haven't won anything in forever. The White Sox fans are more knowledgeable and friendly, too. They are family oriented and are good sports.

  20. if u enjoy baseball n understand the game then root 4 the sox but if u dont give a d**n bout the game then root 4 the cubs.

  21. just cause your moving to chicago dont mean you gotta root for a team from chicago...you can root for whatever team you want =]...you know...such as RED SOX,rockies, rangers, brewers,RED SOX,oriels, blue jays, cardinals,RED SOX,or like mets...your pick ;D

  22. The Cubs. Especially if Baseball's owners allow Mark Cuban to buy the team. It could get really fun if someone other than a corporate robot is in charge of this team. If that isn't reason enough just follow the arrow below.

  23. Well, it just comes to whether you want to see Ozzie outburst or the Cubs wild, amazing games.

  24. I live in Chicago and I root for the Cardinals. My mama raised me right. ; )

  25. Definitely Cubs. They're a great team! =]
