I am moving to China for 2 yrs. Does it make financial sense to store any of my stuff for that long? I have some nice mahogany furniture. Is there anyone who will buy a house hold full of furniture?

  1. Just do the math, total up the replacement value of your things and multiply out by cost of two years in a climate controlled storage.  It may also be that getting rid of SOME things that are too big compared to replacement value and keeping the easier to store things makes sense. ie, lose the bed mattress but if you have anice frme set, take it apart and store it.  I might sell my car and store my motorcycle and mountain bike.

2 years isn't so long really.  5 years, indeffinalty? Id be more likely to get rid of nearly everything and store some boxes of irreplaceable heirloom stuff with family.
