I'm moving to Dublin in September to work as a placement student at Penneys on Mary Street. Having never been to Dublin before, i would appreciate any advice on areas to live, etc. My income will be 22,000 euros and i would like to be within walking or short public transport distance from the city. Any other advice or info would be appreciated also. Thanks!

  1. Southern surbubs or share appartment in the city centre.

  2. any of the suburbs along the DART train line are good

  3. I would advise to get a place in the city centre, its not actually too expensive if u find the right one.

there are so many colleges that there are always rooms etc to rent.

Mary street is in the centre of town, just off o connell street. its on the north side of the city (north of the liffey). still, only a ten minute walk from grafton street.

temple bar is in the centre of things, and quite safe. good place to live. otherwise, somewhere around the keys, but be sure to check it out, as going too far down pearse street can get a bit rough.

i no a lot of students who live in drumcondra or dorset street area. near the centre.

you'll have no prob getting somewhere. try daft.ie good luck!

  4. rent a place buying is too expensive. its a good place to live but take a few trips there first because it will be hard to get used to the place

  5. Don't do it, Move to Donegal instead = )

  6. Show ur respect, wear ur best wellies

  7. On that salary you're not going to be able to afford much. I would look for a nice bunch of people to house share with.
