Luckily, we will have help from company on living expenses so we can live in a nice area and we will rent/let. Have heard Blackrock and Sandycove are both very nice.

Ideally, we would have a 3 bedroom and at least 2 full bathrooms. Also, we would love to live in an area that is good for kids/close to parks and close to the coast. Allt hese things may not be possible, but it is at least a start. Thanks in advance for the help.

  1. Hi there,

Firstly Blackrock and the surronding areas are all highly desireable areas in the mid - upper class South County Dublin, on or very close to the coast, and very very expensive, but since you are getting help on the rent, you should be fine.

Blackrock itself is a beautiful town, only a few miles outside the city, but right on the coast and has excellent facilities, plenty of pubs restaurants boutiques and two shopping malls.

Theres plenty of houses in the area so you should not have a problem finding one, and most of them are 3/4 bedroom. Blackrock and anywhere south (the city is to the north) which includes Sandycove are all excellent areas, also maybe check out Monkstown and Dun Laoghaire (pronounced: Dun Leary) also some very good bathing areas along the coast and the marina and harbour in Dun Laoghaire (where you can catch the ferry to Wales for the day) are gorgeous. Just to give you a bit of a 'feel' in regards to distance Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire are only about a mile or mile and a half away from each other.

    check out below map

Its not a great map but It'll give you an idea and names a few places around your area of interest that may also be worth looking into (Dalkey for eg)\

    For houses check out

This is the best site for property, practically every estate agent puts their properties on this site. Click on the Lettings option and select Dublin - South county.

The very best of luck in the move and hope this info helped a bit.
