Moving to England list narrowed?

I took my tour around England and we have some areas that we like and I was wondering what you all though. I would like honest answers and not mean comments. I would like to know how it is to live in these areas for jobs, entertainment, politics and religion if you know about it if not ok as well.

We drive down through Harrogate/York area and liked it, From there we drive down south and stayed in Guildford and diit did not fit us as well, then up to Cheltenham/Cirencester and it was beautyful countryside and nice people in Cirencester. From there we drive up to Cumbria and I would probley choose there but there is no housing or too many jobs.

If there are other areas you think are good feel free to write. We are in Glasgow now from Sweden 10 days ago! We want safe family area but things for adults to do not binge drinking.

Thank you for your time

  1. I live in York and it is a beautiful city to live in!

Great for Yorkshire Moors, countryside.  Also Harrogate is lovely to and only 20 mins away!

  2. Ilkley West Yorkshire.

  3. I live in Bristol which is fairly near Cheltenham/Cirencester, most people out in the countryside around these areas tend to be quite traditional and if you want to be able to have a good job then maybe living nearer to some of the bigger cities would be a good idea, Its a beautiful part of the country and compared to everywhere else in britain we also have quite good weather!

  4. Try Edinburgh in Scotland. It's the best city in Europe.

  5. It depends on what type of jobs you are looking for.  Maybe you should start by scouting out jobs and moving where you find one.  York is very good, lovely town and because its near a city, there are plenty of things to do around the area.  If you go to a smaller village there may only be a pub or something and then the only thing to do is binge drink.  Every area is going to have its problems and its good and bad areas, so make sure you look into the good and bad areas of the place where you pick before moving!

  6. As my name suggests i am from Cumbria and i am glad that you liked the area.i cant understand when you say about the housing and jobs in Cumbria, housing in Cumbria is plentifull and is also very cheap compared to southern England and Cumbria has a low unemployment rate and again plenty of jobs available, of course it depends on what sort of job you are looking for but we have plenty of industrys in Cumbria including the nuclear industry. As well as this we have beautifull scenary, clean air and plenty of things to do for family and adults alike.Wages are good and the cost of living is cheap compared to many other areas. I know that i am biased because i love Cumbria but i really do believe that you will struggle to find a better area to move to. Why not take another lolok at what Cumbria has to offer , it is a large county with alolt to offer so dont miss out. hope you find success with your search where ever you may settle.
