I took my tour around England and we have some areas that we like and I was wondering what you all though. I would like honest answers and not mean comments. I would like to know how it is to live in these areas for jobs, entertainment, politics and religion if you know about it if not ok as well.

We drive down through Harrogate/York area and liked it, From there we drive down south and stayed in Guildford and diit did not fit us as well, then up to Cheltenham/Cirencester and it was beautyful countryside and nice people in Cirencester. From there we drive up to Cumbria and I would probley choose there but there is no housing or too many jobs.

If there are other areas you think are good feel free to write. We are in Glasgow now from Sweden 10 days ago! We want safe family area but things for adults to do not binge drinking.

Thank you for your time

  1. If you intend to live here and have to work, then it is no use finding a lovely place with hardly any jobs. IE Cumbria. Have you looked at Devon?  Exeter is a fine city. There is some drinking everywhere but Devon away from the seaside resorts is relatively peaceful and there are good schools.

There is a Theatre, Cathedral, two cinemas, a big hospital, and best of all I live near there to lend class to the place

  2. i live in Shropshire its lovely here beautifull countryside

  3. You don't mention anywhere in the South West...

Have you been to the South West?

I personally think the South West is the best place to live in the UK. It has nice beaches, it's not too busy, stunning countryside (some of the best in the country for sure), some nice large towns and cities such as Exeter and Plymouth which should have many job opportunities. The quality of life in the South West is very good.

Cumbria is indeed very nice (just got back from a 2 week holiday in the Lakes), but you are right, not the best place to find housing and jobs.

I live in the South East myself and I am hoping to move to the South West. It's getting very populated and busy in the south east with loads of noise pollution.

There will be lots of things to do in the South West, and the weather is fairly decent too (better than up north).

    Hope this helps.

  4. North Yorkshire, nice in the dales

  5. As soon as I saw the title I was going to suggest Guildford (which is one of the safest places to live in the UK) but since you don't like it then I recommend Lichfield in Staffordshire, Salisbury in Wiltshire and anywhere in Devon or Cornwall.

Have you looked in other parts of Surrey apart from Guildford, i.e Farnham?
