My wife and I are interested in moving to Italy. We love it there. What is the best way to do this? From finding a place to live, to job? Has anyone experienced a move like this?

  1. I did many years ago. And I still live here, in Rome. A lot depends on your age, profession, whether you have kids and things like that. It would be too long to give you my experience here. If you want, you can contact me and I will be glad to answers any questions. Ask away!

  2. I did it.  I moved to Torino, with five days notice.  Luckily I have EU citizenship- there is almost no hope of getting a work permit (or even a long-term visa) without EU citizenship.  I know MANY Canadians and Americans who were unsuccessful, and NONE who were successful.  Your best bet would be to enter the country on a tourist visa and then look for an employer to sponsor you.  Also, finding accomodation is easier said than done.  Most people find a place to live through "connections", and people like to scam foreigners.
