I'm moving to London and currently I have 2 choices: single room, 100 pounds per week in Queen's Park (W9) or single room/ double room 70 per week / 100 per week, in Stepney Green Road, Stepney (E1). I'm new in London so could anybody help me, which one to choose, which location is safer and better for working environment and accessibility (transport etc) or which one is better economically

Thanks!

  1. They are very distant from each other (almost 7 miles apart). Stepney Green is between the city Canary Wharf, and Queen's Park is to the northeast of Central London.Where you are working should be a strong consideration. If you are working at Olympics site or Canary Wharf it would be much easier from Stepney Green.

    ==========================

    Stepney Green is part of the the "Tower Hamlets" borough (pop. 200K) in which 1 out of 3 residents is Pakistani.

    ==========================

    Queen's Park is an area of North West London divided between the London Borough of Brent and the City of Westminster. The main thoroughfare of the area is Salusbury Road with Queen's Park station at one end and Brondesbury Park railway station at the other.

    --------------------------------------...

    Brent’s predominant minority groups are Indian (18%), Black Caribbean (10%),  and Black African (8%).

    Queen's Park (City of Westminster portion):

    In the past the area was rather run down, however over the past 5 years dramatic urban regeneration has taken place now making Queen's Park very popular with young professional couples and families with young children, so called "media mummies and daddies" who are often stereotyped for their owning of luxury four wheel drive cars, which fill the streets of the area. House prices are high, with the common selling prices for 3/4 bedroom terraced houses to the east of the Park (land values are slightly lower on the west hand side of the park, closer towards Kensal Rise) having recently surpassed £1,000,000, whilst larger 5-7 bedroomed houses overlooking the park on the east side sell for millions. The area is still relatively undiscovered by non-residents, although it is extremely popular for its proximity to central London by direct London Underground link. The area has a well established community, and "almost village atmosphere" in the words of the local residents' association, QPARA.

    Famous residents include Daniel Craig, Thandie Newton, Jade Jagger, Lily Allen, Alexandra Shulman, and Zadie Smith.
