I am moving to 77th Street 2 blocks from Central Park West, close to the National Museum, is that a safe neighborhood? Are the surroundings safe as well? If not, what neighborhoods would you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

  1. It is very nice there.

  2. crazy expensive! crazy nice! what do you do for a living?? LOL

  3. 77th and Amsterdam is in a very safe, very nice neighborhood. Great restaurants. Zabar's only 3 blocks away! Surroundings very safe, as well. I think you mean the Amer. Museum of Natural History (CPW & 79th St.).

  4. This is a fine, safe and desireable place to live, albeit a little congested..

One block further west is Broadway and ther is a lot of great food stores right around there.  I recommend Fairway, Zabar's, Citarella and Food Emporium.  In that order.

For a classic New York experience, go up Amsterdam about a half mile to Barney greengrass.  Bagels and smoked fish, he's famous for his sturgeon.

  5. Yes that is a very safe & rich area of the city.

  6. My friend, that area is very safe.

    Good luck

  7. Very good neighborhood.  Very expensive neighborhood.

As is true everywhere in New York City, you still need to be street-smart and use common sense--  Know your surroundings, avoid dimly lit areas, do not flaunt valuables, don't make yourself a target.

  8. WOW! I think thats great!

You will be near all the cool

places in the city, lol I'm

from San Francisco but I live

on Long-Island Ny. now, but I

think that you will be very

    happy with your new

    surroundings!

    Best Of Luck To You!
