Hi!

I am from the UK and am planning to go to college in NY to study interior design. I was just wandering how hard it would be, after I complete my education over there, to go back and possibly start my own interior design company in NY? or work for a firm?

Thanks!

  1. If you are coming as an F-1 student then the best way to stay here legally is if you work for a firm after school and they can sponsor you so that you get permanent residence.  Unless you are a US citizen you should really think about your legal status in the US.  After you have your permanent residence you can start your own business but before then you should get a work visa with a firm.  Good Luck!

  2. Good Business really but you will have alot of competition.  You might want to work for a firm first before you go out on your own.  However, you might make it you never know.  While you are in college you could go and talk to the construction companies there and get an idea of what they look for.  Also you would want to talk to home builders and you might be able to subcontract work from the Interior Design companies that are already in business so talk to them too.  Good Luck.

  3. It'll be u & the rest of the world.  it definatly wont b easy.  u will hav a lot of compitition
