Well my boyfriend is going to be attending graduate school at Yale and I was wondering if New Haven is a nice place to live? I know that Connecticut is supposed to be a very nice state so I just wanted to know some nice neighborhoods to start looking for houses? We're from Los Angeles so something with a night life is more than welcome.

  1. You'll love it!

There are a lot of good, upscale apartment buildings in downtown, some with loft-style apartments. This is right near Yale. And the club scene is fantastic. There are a lot of good restaurants downtown, as well.

If you want a house house, look at the area just off State Street (Humphrey, Edwards, etc.). That section of State Street has a very nice neighborhood feel to it with good shops and restaurants, including Modern Apizza, one of New Haven's best.

Oh, yes, New Haven has the world's best pizza. In addition to the aforementioned Modern, Frank Pepe's and Sally's, both on Wooster Street are considered the apex. There's some nice housing around Wooster Square, too.

  2. I live in Bridgeport, Ct, which is the biggest city in CT and 20 mins driving from NH. However, you guys will be located in downtown NH and its a nice place to live and it somewhat resembles NY's night lfe due to the club scene and the other night life activities. Of course it has its spots where you shouldnt go out at night but what city doesnt. I unfortaunatly dont know the housing environment well but here is the the webaddress to teh local newspaper for NH..hope i helped
