  1. I'm in the Northern Beaches - a great area to live in, the best in Cairns I say!

I would say the best would be TAS (Trinity Anglican School) at Kewarra Beach  - I think it's a private one.

The primary public school at Trinity Beach has been getting a bit of flack in the news lately as it hasn't been upgraded in years, but they are onto it now. http://trinitybeachss.eq.edu.au/wcmss/

  2. Yes, but watch for crocs. Seriously, it is beautiful up there but also consider the wet season and the humidity.

  3. Moving to Cairns is the best thing I ever did. I prefer mountain, forest, creeks, waterfalls and hills to the beaches though. Better beaches in Victoria :). I do love Machans Beach though, not so much for the beach itself but for the truly tropical flavour of the place, lost in the developed prettier beaches.

The people still laid back, friendly and stress free compared to southerners even though not so much as when I first moved up here.

The area abounds in beautiful places for weekend bliss. I love that since moving here I get so much food for free..like everyone grows so much in their yards and every second person seems to be a recreational fisherman. So very generous to share their crops! I have to gets some chooks or something to take part in this big food sharing culture. Love it!

Then you have the tourism that both adds to the town..lots of restaurants, entertainment, casino for a town of it's size and detracts...what local wants to buy cheap souvenirs?? or stay in some ugly high rise...ahh just take the good with the bad.

Top place. Muggy and wet Jan-Mar...someways better than the dry heat down south once you get used to it. I actually use less aircon than when I was in Sydney...fans work a treat.
