We're in the early stages of immigrating to NS, Canada (from South Africa). Our initial thinking was Halifax. Is this the best option for a young family? We haven't visited yet. Need a heads-up on halifax, Cape Breton, Lawrencetown, Annapolis etc. Any takers?

  1. We always wanted to live in the Annapolis Valley but it's quite a commute in winter.

There's a lot going on as klids' activities in Halifax, but you have much better access if you live closer to downtown.

  2. My Wife is from Halifax. I'm from Pennsylvania. We go visit all of the time. It is a beautiful place to live. The summers never get too hot, and because it is on the ocean the winters never get as cold as the rest of Canada. If I could move anywhere in Canada it would probably be Halifax NS. There is a lot to do and a lot of history. Also it is a very close nit community for a young family to grow up in. The people are friendly and you will be accepted and fit right in. I hope you move to Halifax so much to do and so nice.

    Good luck
