Hey guys. I'm moving to Portugal from the United States and I don't know where to start. What are all the things I need to do to make sure I can easily and safely get there? I already have a place to live (since I'm living with a friend a mind) but other then that I'm completely lost. Can someone please point me into the right direction?

  1. First go to a Portuguese consulate or embassy and do the proper papers to make you a legal resident. then you need to find a place to stay, if you only speak English I advise you to choose the Algarve in the south (is full of British and most people speak English) if you still want Lisbon then you can ask for ideas in the consulate or embassy, well I'm not sure if you have any near by but I know of consulates in NJ, new England (Massachusetts) and in San Francisco's area.

    Good Luck
