Hi All I'm moving to PR for school this summer and I'm looking for a place to live. I have a dog so I'm open to buying a house (ideally not a condo), or renting an apartment since I'll be there for 4 years at least. I need at least 2 bedrooms, and I want my monthly payment to be between 600-900 (or less). I love san juan, so I'm open to that, but I can live closer to caguas, but I don't think I want to live in Caguas, so points north with a 20 min drive would be ideal. I would ideally like to get a house with a yard for me and my dog, and enough space for family and friends to visit. I'm not fluent yet, but I will be conversational by the time I need to move (Mid to late June 2008). Any suggestions are appreciated :-D

  1. Like the other person said, it will be quite of difficult to find a house in the location that you want for a low range budget. My advice is to contact a real estate they can find you what is available in your range. I can't actually recommend you nothing but it will be more easier if you look for an apartment instead of a house.

You should visit this website: vendemossucasa.com this website has a toll free number where you can call and get advice. For your convenience the telephone # is 1-888-538-0390

    Good Luck,

  2. its kinda hard to find a house with a yard and all, for only 600-900. PR only has houses that rent a room or part of the house maybe for 500 or so. but to rent a house only for u, its around 800-1000 aveg. specially in the metro area. u may want to find out in the internet :sanjuanstar.com or el nuevo dia, in the classifed section, were they have a listing of houses for rent or sale.

  3. Hello. Ok you are going to school in Caguas & you want to live in San Juan?? It's usally the other way around for most people. Anyway for that price you really wont find a house in San Juan, except for in the Rio Piedras neighborhood & other areas that aren't that great. I wouldnt recommend you living in Rio Piedras because it has a lot of bad areas. The better parts of San Juan are expensive & many homes wont have yards in the city. You can rent an apartment in a nice area of San Juan for that price, but it will be pretty small. Look at the classifieds & see if you find anything that suits you.

I would suggest renting a house in Caguas. You can get a home for that price with a yard in a decent area. Then you can go to San Juan on weekends & when you have time off because you will be close. But I suggest having a car because outside San Juan there isn't much transportaton. Also other neighborhoods like Dorado are nice too. I am going to give you a link below to the classifieds. I already entered a search for you. I entered the METRO area (which includes San Juan, Caguas & more) & I only searched for Homes for rent (no apts) between $600-1000.  Check out the results.
