Moving to Rome in September and looking for a place to stay. Any advice?

I am Canadian, of Italian origin, and will be moving for work to Rome as of September and was wondering if anyone could give me advice about finding an apartment to share in Rome. I checked craigslist but was wondering if there are any other sites out there, any italian sites, that could be of use. Also, I was wondering which areas are the best, most safe, etc.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Anna

  1. Check out Wanted in Rome. It's an English-language magazine on sale at newsstands in Rome but you can see it online at www.wantedinrome.com.

You can also check out the English Yellow Pages. This is an English-language phone directory for the major cities in Italy. You will find agencies here that list appartments. http://www.intoitaly.it/

Obviously where you choose to live will depend on where you are going to work, what your budget is and what you look for in a good neighborhood. Housing in most of Italy's cities can be costly.

    Good luck on your search.

  2. I suggest this website:

    http://www.cityapartments.it/

if you search for apartments in italy using the yahoo search directory you will find many websites.

i advice to you, pick an apartment that's close to your work site, think about transportation and facilities around it.

are you planing on sharing the apartment?

My boyfriend lives in italy, bologna. when he wants to looks for an apartment, he tries many many many flats, then it's up to the owner to pick which person to choose.

Also, keep in mind the time when you will search for the apartment, it's usually very busy in the end of the summer cause alot of students look for apartments...this will affect the price and how fast you will find a nice place.. :)

    i hope i helped!
