Question:

Moving to Tegucigalpa, Honduras...?

I will be moving to Tegus soon. Where in the city should I look for a place to live? Should I look for a house or an apartment? Or, would it be better to buy a house or land to build?

It will be myself, my spouse, and two kids both under 5. We can afford about $700 a month in rent/mortgage.

Please give us your input. We want to make a wise decision about this move.

  1. Tegucigalpa real state is getting expensive, US $700.00 can get you a decent rental place; for a nice area get ready to shell out between US $800.00 to a grand. From what I read a house is a must; nevertheless my word of advise is buying a house, interest rates aren't that bad lately, you could get 1 figure rate number at the local banks.Try to look around Miramontes,  Florencia (my brother lives there and pays around that figure),San Ignacio, Palmira.Get in touch with a local real state agent and ask him for those areas, he might get you something.
