My husband got a job in Virginia in the Hamton Roads area. I posted a thread on a site because I had read about these Palmetto bugs and roaches that most of us in Michigan don't deal with. I didn't want to move because I was so scared. All the post that I got back from people that live in that area said they don't have Palmetto bugs, most said they have no issues with bugs at all. So they said bugs shouldn't be something you would be concerned with. We ended up finding a home to rent in N. Carolina only 30 miles from Virginia where my husband will work in Elizabeth City. Now I'm scared to dealth they have them because it isn't Virginia. I know it sounds silly for one it isn't that far away and two it really is upsetting me. When all the people from Virginia in the area of Hampton roads said don't worry about bugs they aren't a big deal we have never had them. Those kind of bugs are in Florida or South Carolina. Please help me feel better if you can.

  1. The palmetto bug is not a problem in Northeast North Carolina. If you are overly concerned, then hire a pest control operator to come in and inspect and treat the house.

Doesn't cost that much, and at least you will have a piece of mind.
