Moving to australia from the states, and I have 6 cats?

whats the deal?

do they allow cats from another country? i am unwilling to give them up as they are my little family members.

i am assuming it is allowed, i suppose after some type of quarantine. just curious if australia has some crazy law on animals being taken in from another country.

and anyone ever shipped an animal overseas? how much was it?

  1. You will be able to bring them, but I'm afraid it will be very expensive for 6 by the time they've been through quarantine - and I think the shipping costs are steep too.

  2. $580 in import permits for the 6 cats, plus quarantine fees of $2,727 = $3,307 so far.

    Plus airfares.  I have seen GBP £1,500 for the first cat from UK to Australia, not sure about from USA, but this link may help with that:
