Moving to canada on an australian disability pension?

hi, i am on a disability pension in australia, and i am wanting to move to canada. i know that australia has an agreement with canada to transfer my pension over to there, but i cannot find any information on visa's or what i need as a pensioner to move there, would anyone be able to help?

  2. Have you checked with Centrelink because i think you can only go overseas for 3 months. The Pension agreement between countries is usually for Age Pension not Disability Pension. I dont know anythink about the visas, you should call centrelink international services, they are located in TAS. As the call centre or the offices would not know. The international services deal with all of this, and there is a different section for all countries.

  3. are you sure you can keep your pension if you leave for more than 3 months?

    an old age pensioner can but i don't think you can

    and it will be very difficult to move to Canada or pass the medical to qualify

    Canada may consider you a health risk and a financial liability

    you would be best to enquire at the Canadian consulate in Sydney or the embassy in Canberra
