  1. well, my friend studies in jaipur.... Though he says there is nothing much to see there (i don't agree) do check this out:

    http://www.jaipur.org.uk/

  2. Hi Amie. I'm an Australian and I live 5 hours drive from Jaipur in Vrindavan, Mathura.

I like jaipur very much but I rarely visit because of the hot dry climate. My experiences there were with the beautiful temples inside the old walled city, and also I stayed in  Nature cure clinic there which was government funded. Nice and cheap.

It is an interesting coincidence that my friend from West Indies (french speaking) who lives in Jaipur, visited us today just for the day.

She designs jewelery there. She will return there in September so if you want to contact her leave some message for me.

She could be a nice friend for you. She's in her mid to late 20s.

We are at Rupa Sanatan Gaudiya Math, Seva Kunj, Vrindavan, Mathura, U.P if you visit here. There are a lot of western people here, coming and going but they are related to spiritual groups here.

The interesting thing about Jaipur to me is that it is called 'gupta Vrindavan'. 'Gupta' means hidden. They say it is the same as Vrindavan (though it is more civilized and easier to live in) because the dieties from all the most prominent temples in Vrindavan moved to Jaipur a few hundred years ago because of attacks by Muslims.

I'll give one website incase it's of interest to you, totally about Indian (Vedic) philosophy, art, devotional music etc. and Vrindavan and what goes on here. Not about jaipur. You can do a search for Jaipur.

  3. i am living in moradabad and i am good boy

I will inform him about you and you should mail him and get full information about your Jaipur trip.

    Bes tof luck

  5. jaipur is a metropolitan city

  6. it's a big crazy city in the desert. beautiful but it feels more like a city than a small town. but it's surrounded by beautiful small desert towns, so get out often, especially to pushkar.

rajasthani culture is great, laid back, friendly, mellow. (a little less mellow in the city.)

check out the observatory there, and ask them to let you into the little indiana jones room. at noon a shaft of light moves across the room, otherwise it's dark. it's spectacular. but it's locked and you have to ask to be let in.
