hi im going to be in london for about a year and i was wondering what kind of wages im looking at. im looking at a cashier job probably and was wondering what wages to expect. also how much tax do i take off?

  2. Cashiers in london paid from minimum wage (£5.52) upto £7.00 an hour depending on which supermarket you work with. M&S, waitrose, john lewis being the most luxurious pays more.   3. you will get minimum wage for a cashier Job which is about £5.52 an hour if your over 22

    if your between 18-21 it's £4.60 an hour.

    basic rate income tax is 20%

    Also minimum tax on wages is 20%, plus National Insurance, with some, small, tax free allowances - previous poster was talking about sales tax, known as VAT, at 17.5%.
