  1. If you are an eu citizen no you do not need a visa as you can now freely work and move around eu countries. You need to register when you get into the country, If you are setting up business on your own ensure you look into the ins and outs as you will find it is not as straight forward as people think, To be self employed you have to pay social security payments monthly even if you have not earned anything the payment can be anything from 180 to 240 or there abouts, Then you pay the ussual tax quarterly and then a tax declaration at the end of the year where if you are lucky you will get a little back, IUf you are setting up a sl (ltd) company you have to have approx 3000 euros in a bank account and then have money for someone to deal with the process. If you are working for someone else I would look into what areas are in need of plasterers use the local forums of area, there is one for the torrevieja area and pplenty for costa blanca also one that i know of for the del sol area.

Good luck on your mission you can make it work if you really want to just get in there and work hard, ensure you are ready for hard work as there are so many that come over with ideas but then fail due to not been determined enough to get the marketing etc they just expect it to fall in their lap so to speak, it is not like that at all. Been here two year and at the start I was up till 5am sorting my marketing out then up at 8am to get on with been out there. Took a while but it is now starting to pay off,

  2. Hi, we moved to Spain 3 years ago. If you want to go legal and above board you need to get an nie number and a residencia. you won't need visa as it's Europe.

There are downsides to becoming a resident and that's why so many people work here illegally.

  3. Not if you are mexican!

  4. i live in mainland spain in the costa blanca area and all i needed was my N.I number which you get at you local police atation, its a bit like a national insurance number you get in the uk, you dont need a visa.

  5. yes get a work visa, but it depends on how long ur staying

  6. You need a European Union work visa. Americans can visit for a specified period of time to Schengan countries but if you are going to settle there and form a practice, you do need a work visa. I studied abroad in the Netherlands, and I remember I could stay for the 4 months I needed with just my passport but I was not allowed to work.

  7. yes u need

  8. Depends on where you are from, technically yes, but in reality no, as you can always get work in construction under the table.  I have been here for 7 years. Spain has a huge grey economy here, especially in the smaller towns on the coast.  It costs the employer so much money every month for social security payments etc, that most hire under the table.  It's actually pretty difficult to get a work contract down here, as the employers just don't want to pay into the social system.

  9. If you are a resident natioinal in any of the EU countries then NO
