Moving to the Phoenix area, what are the places to avoid crime wise?

I'm moving to the phoenix area, I haven't decided where yet. What are the places in the area where crime is the highest?

South and west of downtown Phoenix are high crime areas. However there is no area where you can totally avoid crime. The thieves can always steal a car and drive to Scottsdale to break into houses. Don't be paranoid, just keep your doors locked and take sensible precautions.

Crime happens every where but the city with the lowest crime rate is Gilbert.

Mainly south phx. From baseline to probably about indian school.

You should probably look into awahtukee, queen creek, maricopa, scottsdale, cave creek if your wanting to avoid crime.

But like someone said above, anyone can steal a car and drive out to any of these places just like in any other state.

Police do have bait cars that they leave places to  catch car thiefs, its gonna get some of them off the streets

Our crime is concentrated in the south and southwest part of the inner city.  Of course, that is the cheapest place to buy or rent a house. 35th Ave and Buckeye Rd.   16th Street and Broadway.  THose are 2 of the toughest./

The whole valley has high crime.

Chandler, lady rapped on porch.

Glendale shootings every night, high illegal problems.

Scottsdale has not caught the rock burglars in over 8 years.

This whole area is # 1 or 2 for car thefts.

#1 ID theft.

You cannot leave your garage door open.

Illegal drop houses every where.

The list goes and on.

Try Scottsdale or Ahwatukee. I have also heard good things about Apache Junction and Queen Creek. We're moving to Phoenix tomorrow so we did a ton of research.

Rent first before you buy a home. We don't plan on buying until we have a good handle on a safe place - prolly Apache Junction or Queen Creek.

The entire city and all of the surrounding areas are crime infested.

If you have a choice, don't live in the metro Phoenix area.

The whole Phoenix area is filled with crime! I do not stay in that city after dark, with all the rapes and murders going on there! I live up in Prescott; have you thought of moving there instead?
